The Boys in the Band I’m a singer. I have a little band of three guys, and we do cabaret style stuff around local clubs, wedding receptions and various events. We are called ‘Stella and the Supernovas’. I’m Stella, well that’s not my real name. Terry, the piano and synthesiser guy, is mad on astronomy, so he picked that stage-name for me. I’m lucky to have a good voice, and I had training when I was young so I can hold a tune. The music we do is all cover versions of the dirtiest songs of female singers, like Lady Gaga, Madonna, Christina Aguilera, Divinyls, Lil’ Kim, Rihanna and many more. Terry does the arrangements, and I usually slow the songs right down, to milk all the suggestive bits. I purr and pout and try to stir up the audience. It’s great fun. I call them ‘my boys’ cos I’m 35, and they are all in their early twenties. Singing seems to get me excited and I usually need a bit of sexual release at the end of the night, and that's what the boys in the band are for. Julie's books are available on Amazon.com, amazon.co.uk and other amazon outlets. Books are nice but you can also get them on Kindle. Read an Extract |
